The Greig Family Home, Freshwater Creek

The Greig Family Home, Freshwater Creek

In 2012 we bought our absolute dream block; 20 acres, meandering creekline and an exisiting home that required a substantial renovation. We were SO excited!

We set about designing our family home, a design that needed to reflect our country living heritages and echo the feel of an Australian icon; the corrigated iron clad shearers quarters. Simplicity was the key, together with alot of useable family space that took in our amazing natural surrounds.

North facing windows, light filled living areas and kitchen, together with the use of recycled timbers, concrete benches and polished concrete floors, all come together to give this house a rustic but robust feel.

We designed, detailed and constructed the King post trusses used on 3 of the 4 aspects of our home and these frame the house beautifully. Silvetop Vic Ash cladding, Hardwood windows and timber lined eaves to enhance the timeless detailing.

We love our home; it is the perfect reflection of who we are.
